[Class 106 (ii)] A measuring rule comprises three superposed graduated strips A, B, C, e.g. 4 inches, 2 inches and 1 inch long respectively, connected by a pivot D so that their ends can be brought into coincidence at one end of the rule. A rule of length 1 inch, 2 inches ... 6 inches can thus be obtained as desired.
