Abstract

Hinges.-One or both hinges of a casement window which is first raised and may then be turned inwardly have the parts A in the frame cut away to form a slotted barrel with projections A' and the part B on the sash formed with openings B<3>, which engage the projections A<1> and permit turning when the sash is raised. A portion of the beading is hinged to allow the sash to open, and springs may be applied to take the weight of the sash and lessen shock.
