Abstract

Pivoted - sliding windows. - Window sashes 7, 8 are pivoted to sliding stiles 9, 10 by hinges 11, 12, 13, 14 which are provided with leather straps 16 - - 22 to cover the slits between the sliding stiles and the pivoted sashes. The upper part of each strap is screwed to the sliding stile, and the lower part to the pivoted sash. A false sill 31 is provided on the sill proper 32, so that after raising the lower sash 8 and lowering the upper sash 7, the upper part of sash 7 may be swung inwards. Grooves 27, 28 are provided in the window behind the straps to form water stops, and for a similar purpose grooves 29, 30 are formed in the stiles and pivoted sashesrespectively.
