Abstract

185,914. Sheringham, G. H. July 20, 1921. Daylight reflectors.- Sunlight is modified 'by transmission through coloured screens or by reflection from coloured surfaces so as to resemble ordinary north light. The screen may be composed of one or more sheets of glass &c. coloured blue, green, yellow, or with more than one of these colours. Adjustable parallel reflectors 2, 3, Fig. 2, may have areas of their surfaces coated in the proportion 6 parts ultramarine, 3 parts emerald green, 2 parts yellow. The reflectors may be arranged like the slats cf a venetian blind, and may have curved or other shaped surfaces, which may be coloured and arranged behind one or more sheets of coloured glass 5, Fig. 3. The slats may have heat-insulating material or a vacuum in the interior, or one surface may be coated with asbestos.
