Lawn-tennis net supports.-A hollow metal can f, Fig. 4, is shaped to suit the contour of a lawntennis post a, and is provided at its lower end with an internal flange f<2> leaving a central hole f' to receive the shaped top of the post, to which the cap is secured by screws passing through holes 5. The cord i that supports the net passes through a hole. h in the closed top f<1> of the cap and is wound on a drum o, on to which it is guided by a pulley v. The drum o is actuated by an external crank handle u through a worm gear r, q. An inspection opening f<4> in the side of the cap is closed by a movable cover j. Posts that are not fitted with winding gear may be provided with a cap y, Fig. 8, having a groove z to receive the cord. The caps may be used in combination with posts a, Figs. 13 and 16, the pointed lower ends a<1> of which are provided with metal sheaths b.
