Steam cooking-apparatus.-A steam-heated oven comprises a chamber 1 with heat-insulated sides, and a heat-conducting base 5 with burners beneath it, the food being carried on perforated trays 7. Water is supplied to the bottom of the chamber, which is provided. with a draw-off cock 15, a water-level cock 16, and a water-level gauge. The hinged lid 8 is fitted with a rubber or like washer to effect a tight joint. A water seal serves to regulate the steam pressure. A thermometer is fitted. The vessel may be used as a refrigerator by covering the base 5 with felt or the like, and replacing the water by ice.
