Abstract

183,068. Bunzel, E. Sept. 15, 1921. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.- Detachable rims 6 are provided at diametrically opposite points with a pin 8 and a hollow stud 9, which serves to enclose the stem of the tyre valve, and are mounted on the wheel by being passed over it in the position shown in Fig. 2, the stud 9 engaging the hole 5 and the pin 8 entered into an angular slot 3 in the felloe 2. The rim is then swung on the pin 8 and stud 9 as pivots, the felloe being slightly flattened at these points, and two bevelled projections 10 at opposite ends of a diameter at right angles to the line of the pivots, engage slots 11 on the inner surface of the rim, which is locked in position by radially acting spring catches 12 engaging recesses 18. The catches are pivotally connected to levers 15 by which they may be disengaged.
