Mounting and securing reserve tyres on vehicles.-A spare tyre carrier for motor vehicles comprises a number of radial arms c, d, e, having cross-pieces g at their outer ends to engage the rim f, one of the arms e being pivoted eccentrically at its inner end, so that it can be moved into the position shown in dotted lines to facilitate the engagement and disengagement of the rim. The arm e may be locked in position bv a screw h passing through a slot i in the central boss a, which is secured to the vehicle by means of a screw or bolt b. The device may be adapted to carry several wheels by the use of two or more sets of arms, or by the use of single fixed arms adapted to carry two rims, and two movable arms on a common pivot.
