Abstract

158,981. Allan, C. F. F. Nov. 13, 1919. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-A resilient wheel comprises a felloe F carrying a. pneumatic tyre T having sockets 48 into which mushroom-shaped members 44 of rubber &c. fit. The stems 45 oi the members 44 pass through apertures 46 in a floating ring V and bear on a solid tyre A. The tyre T is prevented from creeping relatively to the felloe F by a pin 52 passing through an aperture 53 in the rim R and into a recess 54 in the tyre. In heavier wheels, brackets 31, 32 are provided which pass outside annuli L<2>, L<3> and carry a spindle 37 passing through a recess 40 in a fibre block 41.
