Abstract

152,001. Carter, D. R. April 10, 1919, [Convention date]. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-The tyre carrying rim 10 is detachably secured by a series of spring-pressed bolts 2 which are withdrawn radially of the felloe C by cam-members 4. The latter are rotatably mounted on the stems 3 of the bolts 2 and co-operate with cam surfaces on the ends of the bolt-sockets 1. Flats 13 are formed at each end of these cams to hold the bolts in both extreme positions. Figs. 2 and 3 show the arrangement of the bolts centrally of the felloe to engage recesses in the rim 10; Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the bolts are fitted at the side of the felloe to engage the edge of the detachable rim.
