Abstract
116,383. Cope, S. H., and Warland Dual Rim Co. June 29, 1917. Tyre attachments to rims.-For facilitating manipulation of pneumatic tyres and rims of the expansible and contractible type in which the ends of the rim overlap laterally, e.g. as shown in Figs. 3 and 5, a lever c, Fig. 4, is provided whereby one end of the rim a may be sprung under the other and the rim spread to assume a helical form as shown in Fig. 3. In use, the nose d fulcrums on the outer side of the part e of the rim with the arm f bearing against the inner side of the part g. The lever may be provided with a stud h to engage a recess i in the rim, and a corresponding stud h' may be provided to localise the pressure on the other end of the rim. Specification 693/12 is referred to.
