Abstract

182,475. Quarzlampen-Ges. June 27, 1921, [Convention date]. Pedestal, pillar, and like stands; brackets, adjusting and securing.-In a stand for medical apparatus &c. comprising a balanced supporting arm carried along a vertical pillar by rollers B. Said arm is provided with a catch device comprising an annular disc C loosely surrounding the pillar, the disc being caused to tip into an oblique position by a spring F and grip the pillar should the compensating device become inoperative. The disc is engaged near its outer periphery by a lug D forming part of the slide A which carries the supporting arm rollers B, and houses the spring F, the disc being retained in a horizontal free position by the carrying rope of the balancing- device which may consist of a weight located in the pillar, or a spring drum H rotatably mounted upon the pillar so that the supporting-arm may swing.
