Abstract

540,387. Motor-cycle supports. MARCHANT, W. D., and MOTOSACOCHE SOC. ANON. April 23, 1940, No. 7306. [Class 136 (i)] A stand capable of supporting the machine at two different heights from the ground comprises a pair of bell crank levers pivoted on a spindle 3, one arm 5 of each lever having a shoe 6 for engagement with the ground and the other and longer arm 7 having a lateral extension 8 for engagement by the foot. The stand supports the machine at the lower level in the position shown. To raise the machine to the higher level it is pulled back, the stand pivoting about the spindle 3 until the arms 5 abut stops 9, when the machine rests on the arm 7. The stand is held in the inoperative position by springs, spring clips, &c. or by a spring-pressed ball 11 which engages a cup 10 formed in the stand. The arms 5 and 7 may be joined to form triangular frameworks, and may be joined to the arms on the other side of the machine by cross-pieces.
