Abstract

An aluminium salicylate of the composition C6H4OHCO2Al-(OH)2 is obtained by reacting upon hydrated alumina with a molecular proportion of salicylic acid in the presence of water, preferably while heating. The alumina may be previously dried at 100 DEG C. The product may be separated by filtration and dried at 125-130 DEG C. or when less water is employed, the reaction mixture may be evaporated to dryness and dried at the same temperature.
