Abstract
182,305. Cummer, F. H. June 14, 1921. Continuous - discharge apparatus, rotary.-In a portable drier for use in heating crushed rock &c. for making roadways or pavements, the material is fed into the inclined rotary cylinder 9, Fig. 1, through a shoot 32, Fig. 3, extending through a casing 29 projecting into the cylinder and supporting a stack 28<a>. The material passes through the cylinder in the opposite direction to the products from a furnace 21 into a shoot 25 having a hinged discharge door 26 which is actuated through a hand-lever 27. The cylinder is rotated through gearing from a motor supported upon a depending frame 4.
