Abstract

182,005. Hansen, H. L. C. July 22, 1921. Pistons; piston packing.-A pump piston comprises a cup -leather 12 mounted on a rod 13 between two curved washers 10, 11 having their convex faces adjacent to the cup-leather. The washers are held in place by a nut 14, and have flat portions 10<a>, 11<a> at the centre engaging the cup-leather. Two annular ribs 10<1>, 11<1> on the washers force the leather against the rod 13. The periphery of the cupleather may be thicker than the main portion. The washers are of different diameters and the larger one is of smaller diameter than the cupleather.
