Abstract

181,617. Kelly, J. June 29, 1921. Helmets for aviators and others have adjusting straps about the forehead and back of the head and over the top of the head more particularly for enabling larynx transmitter telephone sets combined with the helmet or its lining to be adjusted to different wearers. As shown, the overhead strap b and rear strap g may be of the type adjusted by twin sliding buckles. The forehead strap j is secured at its centre and engages a buckle at each end. A draw-string m has a number of loops selectively engaging a button n for adjusting the size of the face aperture. The larynx transmitter o is carried by adjustable straps r, q secured either to the helmet or its lining, in which latter case the lining is secured to the helmet by press buttons. An ordinary transmitter t may be used instead of the transmitter o, its supporting base u being hooked to the ear lapels c, or the base u may carry a combined transmitter and respirator.
