Abstract

679,848. Helmets. HENDRY, Ltd., J., and HENDRY, J. Jan. 29, 1951 [Oct: 31, 1949], No. 37816/49. Class 63. A rigid helmet a has semi-circular crossed straps b secured to the crown by a rivet c. The straps b are riveted at e to a broad band d and have tongues b' passing through slots therein. A sweat band g, Fig. 5, has lining tongues h secured together by a cord i and is turned up. round a stiffening canvas band k and is attached to the band d by the tongues b<SP>1</SP> extending through loops m formed in a tape l stitched to the stiffening band k. U-shaped wire clips n, keep the extremities of the tongues b' secured to the band d. A rubber pad may lie interposed between the straps and the top of the lining. The lining can be separate from the sweat band in which case it is attached to the stiffening band k.
