Abstract

The acid-brine process of extracting lead described in Specification 127,641 is applied to the extraction of lead from leady matters such as mattes containing lead, copper, and zinc. The pulverized matte is treated with a hot, strong solution of a chloride to which has been added hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, or an alkali bisulphate.
