Abstract
180,600. Pocklington, C. C., Johnson, L. J., and Sutton, C. T. Aug. 11, 1921. Spray carburettors.-The fuel-nozzle is controlled by a needle valve i adjustably mounted in a tubular plunger b sliding in a casing a and provided with a rack face b<1> engaged by a toothed quadrant c<1> formed on a lever c actuated by a Bowden wire f. The casing a is secured to the nozzle body j by a clamping device a<3> and carries an arm a<2> which forms a support for the outer member f<2> of the Bowden wire and also for the volute spring g which loads the lever c. Fuel enters the nozzle through ducts j<4>. The lever c is mounted on a pin c<2> carried by a pair of lateral lugs. In a modification, the casing screws into the bottom of the nozzle and the arm a<2> is secured between a nut and shoulder thereon. According to the Provisional Specification the needle valve may control the flow of fuel to the jet orifice.
