Abstract

Cutting-appliances.-The invention relates to the provision of a guide or distance-piece on manually-operated splicing-knives as used in preparing the splicing edges on coverings for rollers, such as are employed for example in textile machinery. A bar 1 has a groove 2 cut in one side to accommodate the blade 3 of the splicing- knife, which is held in position by set-screws 4. The opposite side of the bar is shaped with its surface inclined to that of the grooved side, and against this shaped side is clamped a guide-plate 5, held in position by screws 7 which pass through slots 6 in the plate, thus making it capable of adjustment. The angle of bevel of the splicing- edge is thus maintained for any number of cuts.
