Leakage-preventing devices. - A centrifugal compressor having at least one enclosed bearing is provided with a separate circuit for lubricant for each bearing, the pressure of the lubricant in each circuit being suited to the pressure of the medium which leaks into the respective bearings. By this means leakage of the medium under compression from one bearing to another is pre. vented. The drawing shows a compressor with two closed bearings 7, 8 and one open bearing 4, each having separate circuits 9, 10, 11, from a three cylinder reciprocating pump 15. Separate devices for forcing the lubricant to each bearing may be provided and may be fitted in each bearing.
