Controlling different functions by same handle or lever.-The change-speed gear lever is connected to a sliding valve 22 having a number of openings of various areas and operating in the induction pipe 23 of the engine so that for each gear position of the lever the valve provides an opening for the engine mixture corresponding in area to the power required for the particular gear or speed. The sliding movement of the lever in the " gate " does not affect the valve 22. The usual throttle valve 25 operated from the steering- column may also be provided.
