Abstract

177,618. Hadley, A. R., Hadley, S. T., (trading as Hadley & Sons, E.), and Hinton, T. Jan. 8, 1921. Hinges and pivots; parts readily separable about hinge pin.-Pin-and-socket hinges arranged so that the sides of a wagon are easily removable comprise a bar 10, Fig. 1, bolted to the side 11 of the wagon, and with a cylindrical boss 12 from both ends of which project part-cylindrical lugs 13. These lugs are adapted to pivot in cylindrical sockets formed in end projections from the other hinge-member 6, that is bolted to the base 7 of the wagon and is shown separately in Fig. 5. The sockets have rectangular slots 9 permitting the removal of the wagon side by passage of the lugs only when the side is horizontal.
