Abstract

Aerials.-With the object of avoiding earth losses in a transmitting-aerial, the earth connection or screen B is of larger dimensions than the aerial A, and is divided into corresponding sectors. Each sector of the aerial network is connected by a radial wire V to the upper end a of the vertical lead, and each sector of the earth connection or screen is connected by a radial wire W to the lower end b of the vertical lead. The outer ends of the wires V, W are connected to the sectors at points lying on circles S, T at which the electrostatic lines arc most concentrated.
