Indicators, revolutiondirection.-Relates to shaftoperated apparatus actuating any suitable indicating- device, and consists in a sleeve carried by an eccentric on the shaft with an extension embraced by a movable jaw and arranged to move the jaw from one extreme position to another only when the direction of rotation of the shaft is reversed. The shaft b carries the eccentric a which rotates in a strap c provided with a laterally-extending roller d, which normally runs idly in the jaw e. The jaw is slidably mounted in a bracket f and kept in any set position by friction; when the direction of rotation is reversed the strap is moved by the eccentric through approximately 180‹ and the roller, leaving the end e<3> of the jaw, engages with the other end e', as shown by the broken lines, and forces it downwards, this movement being transmitted by a rod h to the indicating-device. The roller then continues to run idly on the face e<2> until the direction of rotation is again reversed. In a modification, a pivoted jaw is operated by the sleeve and rocked through an angle on reversal of the shaft.
