Abstract

Relates to liquid fuels for internal combustion engines of the kind described in the parent Specification and consisting of a mixture of tar distillates up to 130 DEG C., raw petroleum distillates up to 260 DEG C. and methyl alcohol. The invention consists in using aliphatic or aromatic ketones, aldehydes, ethers, or esters, or mixtures thereof, instead of, or together with, the methyl alcohol. These substances may be used in the pure or "technical" state, and preferably in proportions not exceeding 10 per cent, additions of from 3-5 per cent being preferred. In an example, 45 parts by weight of the tar distillates are mixed with 55 parts by weight of the raw petroleum oil distillates and 8 parts by weight of acetone.
