Abstract

111,661. Flint, J., and Brown, F. G. Nov. 16, 1916, [Convention date]. Spirits for turning.-A spirit for use in internalcombustion engines and for heating and lighting purposes consists of alcohol, a hydrocarbon, and either camphor or pine tar or " pine tar products," or both. As " pine tar products," terpineol, pinene, and resin oil may be used.. In an example, 94 parts of a 48 per cent. alcohol obtained by distillation is mixed with 5.4 parts of coal tar naphtha or an equivalent petroleum distillate and with 0.6 parts of camphor. The spirit is obtained by distilling the mixture until twothirds have passed over.
