This invention relates to improvements in methods for producin motor fuel, and refers more particularly to t e production of motor fuels having high antiknock and-combustion retarding properties.
In the past few years, there has been considerable development work done along the line of producing a motor fuel in which the fractions would be uniformly consumed, in

It may be particularly pointed out that the motor fuel produced in accordance with the present invention will operate much more eflicientl in a high compression engine than in a ow compression engine where the ratio is say, 4% to 1 instead petroleum oil.

A motor fuel characterized by its antiknock properties composed of pressure dis-' tillate produced from the cracking of low temperature coal tar and straight run gaso line obtained from the distillation of crude petroleum, the ratio of straight run gasoline to pressure distillate being in excess of three toone.
3. A motor fuel characterized by its antiknock properties comprising a pressure distillate produced by cracking low temperature coal tar blended with gasoline obtained from petroleum.
4. A motor fuel knock properties comprising a pressure distillate'produced by cracking low temperature coal tar blended with a greater quantity of gasoline obtained from petroleum.
5. A motor fuel characterized by its antiknock pro rties comprising pressure distillate pro need from the cracking of low characterized by its antitemperature coal tar and asoline obtained from petroleum, the ratio gasoline to pres- .sure distillate being in excess of three to one.
6. A non-detonating fuel for'high compression motors, comprising a blend of cracked gasoline with regulated quantities of the cracked overhead product of low temperature coal tar distillation,
