Abstract

Dress-shields.-The bark of the paper-bark tree (Melaleuca leucadendron) is pressed and impregnated with an oily or fatty substance such as a mixture of 5 parts paraffin wax and 1 part resin. It may then be waterproofed by a coating of varnish, collodion, or the like. After having been shaped it may be covered with thin cloth. The product may be used as material for dress-shields.
