Ventilating-shaft tops.-A cowl for ventilators, of the type comprising a rotary portion supported on a pivot and provided with means for creating a draught by the action of the wind comprises a conical body 3 supported on a spindle 25 and provided with a baffle 20 to prevent access of smoke to the rear part of the cone, there being horizontally-disposed funnel-like members 12 to direct an air-current through the interior of the body. The end of the cone is filled with material 23 for counterbalancing purposes, and a guard-ring 6 surrounds the mouth.
