Abstract

173,270. Bailey, S. L. Aug. 26, 1920. Gravity-feed and capillary-action lubricating; cooling lubricants.-Valve mechanism of internalcombustion engines is lubricated from a box C mounted on or integral with the cylinder head. The valve-rocker bearing-pins F, which are hollow, are carried by lugs cast on the cylinder head and are secured in holes D in the box by flanged bushes D<1> and lock-nuts D<2>. Filling-caps E are arranged over the pins. The box may contain wick &c. which extends into the hollow pins. The receptacle is rectangular with semi-circular ends and is provided with cooling-fins C'.
