Abstract
187,502. Bailey, S. L. Dec. 10, 1921. Addition to 173,270. Capillary-action lubricators; cooling lubricant. -The device for lubricating valve-mechanism of internal-combustion engines described in the parent Specication is modified by arranging the ends of the hollow vertical valve-rocker pins c to project above the level of oil in the receptacle a. Oil is siphoned into the hollow pins by wicks and passes through radial holes to spiral grooves formed on the pins. The pins may be provided with tubular extensions to raise the entrance of the holes above the oil level. The receptacle a, provided with cooling fins b, is cast from aluminium, bronze, aluminium or copper alloy, cast iron, or other good conductor.
