Abstract

173,039. Pavier, E. J. C. Sept. 16, 1920. Closure members; indicators, applications of.- A plug-cock particularly adapted for controlling the petrol supply on motor vehicles comprises concentric plugs provided with adjustable permutation indicators. The inner plug 19 is actuated by a milled head 21 and has a passage 20 arranged to one side of the diameter adapted to work in conjunction with ports 14, 15 in a sleeve 16 rotated by a milled flange 22 and constructed to rotate in a casing 10 having bent or obstructed ports 13. The plugs are held against their respective seats by a spring 25 bearing against nuts 24 housed in a cap 26 secured to the plugs by set-screws with a pin or set-screw engaging one of a series of holes 29. The valve may be secured to the carburettor before it is attached to the engine in such a position that it cannot be removed independently of the carburettor. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 138,801, 141,266, 144,875, and 159,962.
