Abstract

172,724. Wallace, D. J. W. T. Sept. 13, 1920. Fair-leads.-A fair-lead or warping-guide is fitted with ball bearings D, arranged between an. upstanding shoulder F on a sole-piece A and a ring F<1> depending from the base of the pulley B at its outer circumference, so as to counteract both lateral and downward thrust on the pulley in addition to acting as an anti-friction bearing during running. In the illustrated construction. the pulley is bushed to receive the mounting-pin C and is 'fitted with a stamped metal cap G secured thereto by studs and provided with holes for lubricating purposes.
