Surpports for articles to be heated; drip collectors.-An electric cooking-appliance of the type in which a heating-element is disposed above a vertically - adjustable grill has a fat-catching receptacle secured to the grill. In the form shown, the heating- members b are disposed below asbestos packing c mounted in a chamber with brick walls a. A cage d carrying a grilling- grid e is mounted for vertical movement in the chamber on a support k working in guides m. The support k is provided with a rack engaged by a hand-operated pinion o. A counterbalance weight t is secured to the support k by a chain r passing over a pulley s. A tray g is arranged below the grid to catch falling fat. A chamber f<1> may be provided in the cage to hold plates or the like which it is desired to warm. Extra heating elements may be provided at the sides of the chamber. The fat tray may be partitioned to separate fat falling at the front of the grid from that falling at the back.
