Abstract
171,505. O. D. Cars, Ltd., and McKee, J. A. Aug. 25, 1920. Controlling-apparatus, arrangements of hand and foot gear in conjunction with.-The hand or foot lever D for operating the rear brake of a motor road vehicle is connected to the rock shaft A by securing it to a sleeve B surrounding the shaft and fixed to the shaft at a point b equidistant from the levers C to which the brake connections are attached. The inequality of the force applied to the two connections due to torsion of the shaft A if the lever D is fixed directly at one end of the shaft is thus avoided. For purposes of adjustment the sleeve B may be in two parts relatively and angularly adjustable by a worm and worm-wheel device E, E'.
