Abstract

Vehicle lamps, directing.-The lamp at the side to which the vehicle in turning is moved by the pull of a Bowden wire h connected to the wheel-steering gear c at the point g. The wire is slidably connected to the rear of the steering-gear by the bracket j and the other end is secured to a lever m, Fig. 7, fixed by the nut n to the lamp shank or socket. Normally a spiral spring o pulls the lever against the stop p. Movement of the steering gear thus moves the lever m against the action of the spring. The lamp on the other side of the vehicle remains in its normal position as the corresponding Bowden wire is unaffected by the turning. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 14182/05, 613/06, and 4332/07.
