Abstract

170,772. Chenery, W. H. Nov. 8, 1920. Protectors, securing.-A detachable heel pad is secured to a boot &c. by means of a slotted plate 1 screwed to the heel, and a plate 2 secured to the tread by barbs 19, 20, 21 and having hooks 16, 17, 18. The hooks engage the slots 10, 11, 12 in the plate 1 in the direction of the foot-pressure and are locked by an off-set 14 in a spring bar 13 riveted to the plate 1 and working in a channel 7 in the heel, the offset being sprung into the slot 12 behind the hook 18. A detachable sole is similarly secured.
