Abstract

162,974. Peters, O. W. July 14, 1920. Uppers, protectors for.-A removable heel protector, particularly applicable to fine shoes with Louis heels, comprises a casing 1 having an internal spring 6, an inset rubber cushion 15 retained in place by a flange 13 on the casing, and a hinged clamping member 39 which fits against the front of the heel. The clamping member is secured by wires 32 engaging slots 11 by being drawn down by a lever 30 pivoted at 29. A cam 31 on the lever presses up against a metal portion 41 and secures the entire casing when the lever 30 is brought into the vertical position.
