Abstract

184,109. Braunstein, B. Aug. 17, 1921, [Convention date]. Stretchers.-A boot or shoe stretcher comprises a front portion formed in two parts, with means for forcing them apart to stretch the shoe in the direction of its height, and a heel portion connected to the front portion and itself formed in two parts having means for forcing them apart to stretch the shoe in the direction of its length. As shown, the front sole portion is connected by springs 5 and guide-pins 3, 4 to an instep portion 2. The parts 1, 2 may be separated by a screw 9 engaging a wedge 8. The two parts 12, 13 of the heel portion are connected by a hinge 14 and separated against the action of a spring 19 by a screw 16. The part 12 is also hinged to the part 1.
