Abstract
524,617. Removing shoes from lasts. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd. (United Shoe Machinery Corporation). Feb. 4, 1939, No. 3734. [Class 17 (i)] A last-pin 35 is adjustable on a yoke 11 pivoted at 7 and linked to a treadle 21. A heel end engaging pad 41, flat and of substantial area, is pivoted at 37, urged clockwise by a spring 43 against a stop 47 and normally prevented from moving anti-clockwise by a step on a latch 49. A stop 50 on the latch contacts with the jack as this is depressed to free the latch when the shoe is sufficiently removed from the heel end of the last. The latch may be omitted.
