Abstract

168,669. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). June 5, 1920. Alloys.-Filaments for electric lamps and X-ray and other vacuum tubes are made by mixing tungsten with a quantity of iron not greater than 2 per cent by weight of the whole and treating the mixture at such a temperature and for such a period that the iron content is reduced to materially less than 1 per cent but not materially less than 0.1 per cent. Specifications 23499/09, 1162/11, and 10918/13 [all in Class 39 (ii), Electric lamps, Incandescent], are referred to.
