Securing bearing-rings on shafts.-To ensure an inner race-ring of a ball or roller bearing to a shaft, a split or other ring 7 is interposed hav. ing one or both faces serrated, corrugated, or roughened. Relative rotation between the rings is prevented by keys or projections engaging with corresponding recesses, grooves or gaps, one form being shown at 10, 11, Fig. 9, for securing the outer race-ring to the housing. One or both edges of the ring may be formed with flanges engaging the sides of the race member. The device is applicable also to thrust bearings.
