Closure members. - In valves and cocks provided with a chamber into which the valve member is withdrawn when open, the valve comprises a disc C and a wedge-shaped member B or tapered gate secured together by screws. Packings C<1>, D are secured to the underside of the disc C and to the wedge member B. In the closed position the disc C seats over the opening at the bottom of the valve reception chamber and the member B seats upon the sides and bottom of the fluid passage.
