Abstract
167,455. G³ttner, M. July 31, 1920, [Convention date]. Pressure reducing valves.-A reducing- valve for ice-making or refrigerating machines is controlled in such a manner that the outflow pressure is a constant proportion of the inflow pressure. The two parts 1, 4 of the casing are separated by a metal diaphragm 5 carrying a central tube 6. The diaphragm is pressed upwards against the valve member 10 by a spring 7, the tension of which is adjusted by the screwed spindle 9. The pressure of fluid at the inlet 2 is balanced by the pressure at the outlet 3, together with the pressure of the spring. The valve opening is adjusted automatically so that the outflow pressure is a predetermined fraction of the inflow pressure, which may be variable. The valve member 10 is provided with a spherical bearing 13.
