Abstract

Bodies; hoods; vans. - A pleasure car convertible into one for commercial use has the hood fittings c, Fig. 2, engaging in keyhole bearings f in the body a by studs which are raised and sprung outwards to release the hood, the back canvas of which is secured by turn-buttons h. The back of the body is covered by a boot top j made in two parts connected by a lap joint, each part having a stud fitting in holes l, l<1> in the body and the top part having locks in a recess n. To fit a commercial body top r, Fig. 1, the hood and boot-top are removed and the top r secured to the body by forked lugs s which are engaged by hinged wing bolts on the body, a clear space being left at the back of the vehicle from the roof to the floor level. A further bolt u passes through the hole l in the body and through an overhanging portion v of the wooden top. Interposed rubber pads w prevent rattling.
