Abstract

166,074. Peters, J. A. Oct. 21, 1920. Spring devices.-Springing means for the wheels of motor-cars, cycles, &c. comprises a compression spring e, and a tension spring f to damp recoil due to the action of the compression spring, one end of the tension spring being slidable on a bolt h so that in the event of excessive load or shock the tension spring serves as a compression spring. Wheel forks a may be provided, and the entire device may be filled with lubricant which obtains access to the upper and lower pivotal bearings through a tube j and passages k respectively. The device may be used in a motor-cycle frame constructed as described in Specification 175,697, [Class 79 (ii), Motor vehicles, Driving &c.].
