Abstract

Heating by electricity.-A flow heater, Fig. 1, comprises a container 3 beneath which is mounted a heating-element enclosed in a plate 8 threaded over the inlet pipe 1. Pins 11 on the container pass through apertures in the plate 8 which is secured to them by nuts. The plate 8 when lowered for inspection or removal of the heating. elements rests on a nut 12. The plate may be lined inside with a non-conductor of heat and' electricity. The heating resistance 4 is passed through plates of insulating material reinforced if desired by sheet-metal rims and joined by bars 5 of metal or insulating material as shown in Fig. 2. Spacing sleeves may be mounted on the bars 5. The frame is provided with connection plugs 6, 7.
