Abstract

163,789. Spina, E. Lanzerotti-, and Thomson, K. J. Feb. 24, 1920. Valve-gear; regulating.-Three or more inclined inlet and exhaust valves 5, arranged alternately either singly or in groups around the cylinder head, are actuated by two concentric plungers 13, 14, one for the inlet valves and the other for the exhaust valves. In one modification, one of the plungers also actuates a valve arranged vertically in the centre of the cylinder head. The plungers carry rollers 16 which engage caps 17 on the valve stems, and adjustment is effected by inserting packing-pieces in the caps. The plungers are actuated by two overhead levers rocking about the same axis, the lever for the outer plunger having an arched end 10 to accommodate the end of the other lever.
